The SLO shows in Paso Robles were no different. The only other dog entry was the same fellow who finished the weekend before, so again, no points. There was, however, another entry on Monday's Santa Maria Kennel Club show. And Woo Hoo, Ranger went WD and earned his first point. If you'd like to see the little guy in action, Samantha Nye took a couple of great videos of him in the ring. This first link is the puppy class. It had been raining all night. The ground was wet, rocky and uneven and Ranger definitely didn't like it. Puppy Class This next link is the WD class. "I don't wanna stand, Auntie Ange." Big thanks to Sam for the videos.
Then off to Turlock first with Stockton to follow. Again, no points in Turlock since the other dog entry was the dog who finished and there was only 1 bitch. Stockton was going to be the show with a point. Entries both days were 2-2-1-2. As luck would have it, the other boy was, you guessed it, that same dog. But, there were 2 girls entered. There was a possibility of a crossover point, finally. Yes! But wait. That didn't happen. One of the girls' owners decided to go home early. She took away the bitchs' point and the hope for a crossover for both days, so what was the reason for staying?
Poor Angelia Hall gave up a family Thanksgiving to travel to California and try to get some points on not only Ranger, but also the class bitch. I know how big a sacrifice it was. But Angie is dedicated to not only the dogs, but also to the people who hire her. And when a client requests a show, and if Angie can gather enough dogs to make the trip worth taking, she takes it. Having the class bitch leave early messed up plans big time, but then again, "The best laid schemes of mice and men often go awry" and "It's a dog show; of course there will be surprises." All will have better luck next time :-D.
